Milprazon for Cats
Milprazon is a broad spectrum dewormer for cats that treats various species of gastrointestinal worms; it also works as a heartworm preventive treatment if at the same time treatment against tapeworms is indicated. Milprazon is composed with two active ingredients, Milbemycin Oxime and Praziquantel that treats different species of tapeworms such as Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp & Echinococcus multilocularis and also different species of roundworm like Ancylostoma tubaeforme, and Tozocara cati.
Milprazon dewormer for cats is advised for use in 6 weeks and older kittens and cats that weigh at least 1.1 lbs (0.5 kg). It can be used in pregnant and lactating cats.
How it works?
Milbemycin Oxime and Praziquantel are two active ingredients of Milprazon. Milbemycin Oxime works against roundworms and also work as heartworm preventive; it affects pest membrane leading to hyperpolarisation and eventually death of parasites. Praziquantel on the other end works on Tapeworms, it depolarizes neuron membrane; the imbalance results into expulsion and death of the parasite occurs.
